Putting Words, Images and Ideas to Work. Freelance Writing and Marketing Services.
Issue: Blogs are an ideal format to showcase your thinking, personality, values, and writing style. Unlike traditional B2B marketing pieces, which typically use succinct sentences and bulleted copy, blogs are often stories told in a more conversational, personal voice. I created my blog in 2012 to show potential employers and clients another of my many writing styles, as well as to share valuable lessons and interesting news with other business professionals.
Solution: I created Marketing Communications Ink — a marketing, careers and business blog, which now features over 70 articles on subjects ranging from logo design to public speaking, time management, word of mouth marketing, slogans, the job hunt, and more. The articles frequently include reference resources to help my readers learn more on a given topic.
Result: To date, the blog has received > 30,000 views. My articles have appeared on page 2 of Ask.com; have been discussed by Word of Mouth Marketing subject matter expert (SME) Andy Sernovitz in his “Damn I Wish I’d Thought of That!” website; were RT’d by David Meerman Scott – who coined the term: Newsjacking; and were featured by Shore Branding (a branding and digital marketing firm) which proclaimed my LinkedIn “Top Viewed Award” as one of the top five articles of the week. As a direct result of creating this blog, I was hired by CK Kerley, a digital marketing SME, speaker and thought leader, to assist as a sounding board and editor for several of her projects. Today, I have turned a part-time project into a full-time career, offering freelance writing services that help businesses grow.
